Hello, I am Dr. Edmund Liu.
I was born in Hong Kong and moved to the U.S. when I was a teenager. I went to high school in Baltimore and earned my undergraduate degree at the University of MD at College Park. Dr. Liu earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, graduating in 2002. I speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, so please feel free to communicate in whichever language you are most comfortable with.
In 2004, I married my lovely wife, Shuk-Kei, and we are blessed to have two beautiful children: Grace and Jake. Since we really love the Clarksburg community, we decided to move here in 2011. If you see me and my family around the neighborhood, definitely say Hi!
With over 24 years of experience, I am committed to staying at the forefront of dental care. I have completed advanced training in dental implants, LANAP laser therapy, Bioclear, and Invisalign, allowing me to offer my patients a wide range of modern treatment options.
My philosophy: Creating a positive and comfortable experience is one of the most important parts of patient care to me. I understand that every patient has different concerns, goals, and past experiences with dentistry, which is why I focus on open communication and personalized attention at every visit. I enjoy helping patients feel informed and at ease, never rushed or overwhelmed, so they can feel confident about their treatment and long-term oral health. Patients often appreciate my calm demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to making each appointment as smooth and supportive as possible.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of joining dental mission trips to China, Peru, and Cambodia, serving those in need around the world. Locally, I have given dental health talks at Little Bennett ES, Wilson Wims ES, and Watch Me Grow Preschool, and participated in Career Day at Little Bennett ES, Wilson Wims ES, and Cedar Grove ES. These experiences are incredibly rewarding and reflect my commitment to giving back to the community.
Outside of dentistry, I have a great passion for soccer — I started playing at age 5 and still play regularly in a league at the Germantown Soccerplex. I also enjoy running and trying new foods!
